Chapter 30 & 31

At the beginning of these chapters, Scout takes Boo out to the porch, where they sit while Heck and Atticus are talking about the death. Heck wants to call it an accident, but Atticus thinks that Jem killed Bob and doesn't want him to be protected by the law. Heck insists that Bob fell on his own knife, so Atticus eventually just goes with it. After all is said and done, Heck points out that Tom died for no reason, so they should "let the dead bury the dead." Scout and Boo go to say goodnight to Jem, and then Scout walks Boo back to his home, they say goodnight on the porch, and Scout puts herself in Boo's shoes, then she returns home, and falls asleep listening to Atticus read her a story.
